Wis. women vets can now apply for special plates
MADISON, Wis. — The state Department of Transportation says Wisconsin women who have served in the U.S. military can now apply for new specialized license plates.
Like all current Wisconsin veteran plates, the new ones feature blue numbers on a red, white and blue background, with the words “Wisconsin” across the top and “Woman Veteran” at the bottom. The left side of the plate features a sticker representing the applicant’s specific military branch.
The plates cost $15 on top of the $75 basic vehicle registration fee. Personalized plates cost an additional $15.
The state currently offers 56 military plate options for veterans and recipients of certain medals and honors.
