York’s Kroll no-hits No. 1 Elk Grove

York’s Tessa Kroll no-hit No. 1 Elk Grove on Thursday, striking out seven in a 2-0 Dukes win in Elmhurst. York (4-5) scored the game’s only runs in the third inning. Alyssa Johnson singled in Rachel Gentile with two outs and Kroll (3-1) doubled Johnson in. Kroll walked four, retiring eight of the final nine batters she faced.

Waubonsie Valley 3, Geneva 2:

Katie Benson’s bloop single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh scored Mel Koulos with the winning run as the Warriors (5-2, 3-0 Upstate Eight) rallied with 2 runs in the final inning for their fourth straight victory. Winning pitcher Shannon Hohman (4-1) struck out eight.

Willowbrook 7, Wheeling 2:

Darian Pelsor fired a six-hitter and the Warriors (1-5) pounded out 13 hits for their first win.

West Chicago 2, Glenbard West 1:

Katie Wiest (4-0) struck out five and scattered 6 hits for the host Wildcats (6-3) in West Chicago.

WW South 5, St. Charles North 1:

Rayanna Becker went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, Kristy Santora 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and an RBI and the Tigers (4-6) jumped ahead with 3 runs in the bottom of the first to snap a three-game losing streak. Winning pitcher Sammy Granger struck out seven.

Glenbard South 2, Riverside-Brookfield 1:

Danielle Chitkowski (3-1) and Stephanie Chitkowski combined on a five-hitter, and the No. 9 Raiders (6-1, 2-0 Metro Suburban Conference) survived a late R-B rally for a road win.

Batavia 8, Metea Valley 2:

Anna Petersen homered, but Batavia (6-4, 1-1 Upstate Eight) broke the game open with 5 runs in the third to hand Metea (4-1, 2-1) its first loss. Katie Ryan went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and 4 RBI for Batavia.

Fenton 6, Timothy Christian 3:

Nicole Susmarski’s bases-loaded triple keyed a 5-run bottom of the fifth, as the Bison (3-6, 2-0 Metro Suburban Conference) rallied in Bensenville. Marisa Voss went 3-for-4 with a double and run scored for Timothy Christian (3-6, 0-2).

Naperville North 10, Streamwood 2:

Caitlyn Warren went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI and Tara Degl’Innocenti went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in 2 for the Huskies (4-2).

Manteno 5, Lisle 1:

The visiting 20th-ranked Lions (6-1) committed 5 errors in suffering their first loss of the season.
