Forward Nyarko re-signs with Chicago Fire

Speedy forward Patrick Nyarko of Ghana has re-signed with the Chicago Fire, team officials announced Thursday.

“Keeping Patrick with the Fire was a big goal of ours over the last year,” said Fire head coach Frank Klopas. “With his speed and ability to change pace, he’s shown to be one of the most threatening attackers in MLS over the last few years and is key to our attack.”

Nyarko has played 99 games with the Fire since his rookie year in 2008. Following his initial season in MLS. In addition to leading the club with 19 assists from 2010-11, the 26-year-old forward joined fellow countryman Dominic Oduro in the front attack midway through last season to help the Fire to a 7-2-1 finish last season.
