Warren High business group hosts fundraising concert

Singer-songwriter Matt Wessel will perform in a benefit concert for the American Cancer Society staged by Warren Township High SchoolÂ’s Future Business Leaders of America club.

Warren Township High School’s student business club will stage a fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society for the 12th consecutive year.

Gurnee-based Warren’s Future Business Leaders of America will hold the Concert for Life at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Hunt Club and Gages Lake roads in Gurnee.

Singer-songwriter Matt Wessel, known for his performance of inspirational music, will be featured at the Concert for Life. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door.

Tickets are available at Warren’s Almond Road campus bookstore or directly from Future Business Leaders of America members. In addition, tickets may be reserved by calling club faculty sponsor Chris Mason at (847) 548-6870.

Patrons may participate in a silent auction or one of many raffles that’ll be offered before the concert and during intermission. Organizers are still seeking donations for the silent auction or raffles.

In past years, prizes have included VIP immediate-access passes to Shedd Aquarium and a three-month membership to Gold’s Gym in Gurnee.

It’s hoped the Warren FBLA chapter will cross the $300,000 mark in total funds raised for the American Cancer Society since hosting its first Concern for Life 12 years ago. Students perform all of the work connected to the event and all proceeds benefit the cancer society.
