One Hope United’s Blue Ribbon Event set for Lehmann Mansion

One Hope United’s 9th annual Blue Ribbon Event is set for noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 15, at The Lehmann Mansion, 485 Milwaukee Ave., Lake Villa.

April is “Child Abuse Prevention Month” and signified across the nation by the wearing of blue ribbons.

One Hope United’s annual Blue Ribbon Event is dedicated to increasing awareness of child abuse and neglect, a crisis affecting a growing number of children and families in Lake County and throughout Illinois each year.

This year’s guest speaker and honorary chair is Cecilia Rodhe Noah, cofounder of Noah’s Arc Foundation. She founded the organization — built on the principle of self-expression and the belief that every child, no matter race, creed, color, nationality, religion or economic standing, needs to be able to express their true self in order to fulfill their dreams — with her son, Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls.

The Noah family is a strong support system for One Hope United and the at-risk children and families the agency serves in Lake County.

The event will also feature a luncheon, raffles, an extensive silent auction and an energetic live auction by Jim Miller.

Tickets for the event are $100 each and proceeds benefit the children and families in One Hope United programs. Tickets can be purchased online by visitingwww.onehopeunited.org/blueribbonevent.

For information about becoming a corporate or individual sponsor, volunteering at the event or donating a silent auction item, contact Laura Rowan at (847) 245-6593, lrowan@onehopeunited.org.
