Chat with local artists at Outreach Event April 20

Leading local artists, sculptor Fran Volz, author Margaret Hawkins and photographer Lou Nettlehorst will be participating in an “Art Chat,” hosted by the Arlington Heights Arts Commission, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 20 in the Community Room, located on the third floor of the village hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road.

This free event for artists and patrons of the arts will include a lively discussion of the creative process, followed by a Q & A with the audience. In addition, Charlie Beck, the new executive director of the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, will speak at the start of the program, followed by a performance by the McDonald Dance Academy dancers.

The photo submitted by photographer Nevin Nelson, which placed first in this year's Arts Commission photography contest, will be on display in Village Hall for one year. The evening opens with a half-hour devoted to networking, and closes with an opportunity to visit with the artists in the community room.

There will be a drawing for two tickets to a performance at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, as well as coffee and refreshments.
