Antioch hosts 21st annual Eggcellent Easter Adventure egg hunt, parade
On Saturday, April 7, the village of Antioch’s Parks & Recreation Department will host its 21st Annual Eggcellent Easter Adventure at Williams Park in Antioch.
The Easter Parade will be at 10:30 a.m. on Main Street. The egg hunt will follow immediately at 11 a.m.
The egg hunt will be held under the pavilion and the children will look for eggs in the straw.
Registration for the egg hunt will continue through Friday, April 6, at the parks office. There will be no registration on the day of the event, the limit is the first 700 children.
The fee is $3 per child. The event is open for children ages 1 to 10. Each child will receive 10 eggs. This year, three special Easter baskets per age group will be given to those with winning numbers.
Following the egg hunt at around 12:30 p.m., the Antioch Elementary District 34 foundation will hold its second Annual Duck Race. Tickets for this race are on sale now for $5 for one or $20 for five at District 34 events and will be available at the parade and egg hunt leading up the race.
The finish line for the duck race will be the Hiram Butterick Sawmill, 770 Cunningham Drive. The top prize for this event will be $500. All proceeds go to the District 34 Foundation for educational mini grants.
Photos with the Easter bunny will be available at Williams Park during the hunt. A $3 fee will be charged for each photo. Photos will be available for pick up in the parks and recreation department on the Wednesday after the event.
