Woman dies in Madison area apartment fire

TOWN OF MADISON, Wis. — A woman has died in an apartment fire near Madison.

Firefighters were called to the apartment building in the Town of Madison early Tuesday. Residents evacuated the building and attempts were made to revive the victim.

A Madison Metro bus was standing by at the scene to warm evacuated residents.

WKOW-TV reports the Red Cross says Candlewood Suites will provide rooms for residents.
