Woman killed by train in Glen Ellyn
An outbound commuter train struck and killed a woman Monday afternoon near the Glen Ellyn Metra station, authorities said.
Deputy Police Chief Bill Holmer said it appears the 56-year-old victim committed suicide.
The woman was struck about 1:25 p.m. just east of the Park Boulevard intersection, he said.
The train was en route from Chicago to Elburn, Metra spokesman Mike Gillis said. Several other trains were delayed.
