'Peter Pan,' 'I Love Lucy' join Broadway in Chicago season
Though many choices have already been announced, Broadway in Chicago has finalized its slate of shows for its 2012-13 season.
Tony Award-nominee Cathy Rigby returns in a revival of "Peter Pan" at the Cadillac Palace Theatre from Jan. 30 to Feb. 10, 2013, while "I Love Lucy Live On Stage," a new musical stage show adapted from the beloved 1950s sitcom, is set to play the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place from Wednesday, Sept. 12, to Sunday, Nov. 11. Also added is the off-season adults-only puppet show "Stuffed and Unstrung" at the Bank of America Theatre from Tuesday, June 12, to Sunday, June 17. (This show previously played a one-night engagement at College of DuPage's McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn in 2011.)
These shows join the already announced season lineup of the pre-Broadway engagement of "Kinky Boots" (beginning in October at the Bank of America Theatre), "Sister Act" (Nov. 13-Dec. 2 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University), "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (Dec. 5-16 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre) and "War Horse" (Dec. 18-Jan. 5 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre). Off-season shows include: "Rock of Ages" (June 5-Aug. 5 at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place), "Rain - A Tribute to the Beatles" (June 26-July 1 at the Oriental Theatre) and "Les Miserables" (Nov. 14-Dec. 2 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre).
