Obama’s regret explains our mess
March 31 marks the seventh anniversary of the “legal” murder by dehydration of Terri Schiavo. For 14 days she was dried out like a prune while the country stood by.
Contrary to popular misconceptions, this was not a peaceful, painless death. Father Frank Pavone of Priests For Life, who was present at her bedside when she finally succumbed after two weeks without any fluids, has angrily testified to the fact that she was aware of and terrified by what was being done to her, and that she suffered terribly in her death agony. An armed guard stood over her to ensure that nothing so much as an ice cube was touched to her lips, and to ensure that no pictures were taken to record the horror.
Our wonderful president was asked during a TV interview whether he had ever done anything that he regretted. He replied that he regretted voting, while in the U.S. Senate, to enact Terri’s Law, which simply authorized Terri’s parents to seek federal court review of whether Terri’s federal rights had been protected.
Can you imagine? A vote to give a helpless woman a chance to live was his greatest regret. To what kind of perverted moral code does this man subscribe? And this man is leading our country? No wonder we’re in such a mess.
