Staff at Fabyan School outstanding

I am writing this letter in appreciation of the staff at Fabyan Elementary School in Geneva. My son, Caleb, is a second-grader at Fabyan. We moved from Wisconsin to Illinois about a month into his year in first grade. Before moving to Illinois, school had not been at the top of his list of favorite places to be. In fact, it was probably on the most hated list. Luckily, that changed immediately when he stepped through the doors at Fabyan.

The staff at Fabyan are remarkable. Caleb was fortunate to have Mrs. Diamond for his first-grade teacher and Mrs. McGowen for his second-grade teacher. They both have a talent for making students feel special. They have contributed greatly to Caleb’s increased interest in learning. The principal, Mrs. Thompson, knows him by name — not because he kicks and screams his way into school every morning. The nurse, Mrs. Ebert, has shown compassion when he is ill or gets hurt on the playground. We are grateful for all of them and the staff not mentioned who have helped my son feel as if he is important and part of a community.

Our family is very lucky to have chosen the Geneva School District. A huge thank you to the staff at Fabyan for your hard work and dedication to education!
