Police: Car jumps guard rail, lands on el tracks
A car jumped a guard rail on the inbound Kennedy Expressway and landed on the train tracks near the Rosemont CTA station Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The vehicle was reported to be on the Blue Line tracks about 3:15 p.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Katherine Hosinski.
Rosemont paramedics took two individuals to local hospitals, though the extent of their injuries was unknown, police said.
State police said they were not immediately releasing any additional information about the crash.
Power was shut off between the Rosemont and Cumberland stations, and service was temporarily suspended to the O’Hare station as crews worked to remove the vehicle.
Train service was restored just before 4 p.m., but residual delays were still expected, Hosinski said.
