‘Big’ trouble along the Buffalo River
I wonder if Bigfoot would be upset if he discovered people were being charged money to join the hunt for him.
The National Park Service cited and fined professional big foot hunter Matt Pruitt $525 for leading a 31-person Sasquatch search expedition along Arkansas’ Buffalo National River last month without first obtaining the required written permit.
Pruitt charges participants between $300 and $500 each, which means he netted somewhere between $9,000 and $15,000, despite the paltry fine. Not bad.
Bearing down:
A 69-year-old Paradise, Calif. man credits the intervention of a sow black bear for saving him during a mountain lion attack while hiking Monday morning.
Robert Biggs said he was watching a mother bear, a yearling and a newborn when the cat pounced. “It must have been stalking the little bear, but it was on me in seconds,” he said.
Fishing report:
Lake Michigan: Red-hot action for spring coho salmon. The same is true for jumbo perch, especially on the far south end of the lake. Excellent coho action out of Waukegan and Winthrop Harbor as well.
Fox Chain: Try Petite and Bluff Lakes for very good crappie angling. Walleye activity is picking up on the south end of Pistakee Lake.
Fox River: Good crappie bite continues in the side channels north of the Route 176 bridge.
