Finley Road Construction Set To Begin in Lombard, Public Meeting Week of April 23

With an anticipated bid award date of May 3, estimated start date of late May, completion date of late October, 2012, the first phase of the two year project will start 200 feet south of Wilson and end 100 feet south of the Charles Lane intersection. Project limits for year two are from Charles Lane to Crescent Boulevard.

The improvements include:

• Repairs to the existing storm and sanitary sewer

mains

• New water main from Ethyl Avenue to Harding Road

• Replacement of roughly 10 sanitary sewer

services within the Village right-of-way

• Partial sidewalk replacement

• An expanded roadway and parkway drainage network

• Removal and replacement of all curb

• Milling three inches of existing pavement which

will be over layed with five inches of fiber

reinforced concrete

• Replacement of driveway aprons

• New pavement markings

Traffic will be adjusted during the scope of the project. It is anticipated that traffic will be one way south bound only (Charles Lane to Wilson Avenue). North bound traffic will be detoured to Main Street and then to Maple. An alternate route for south bound traffic will be via Edson.

A Public Information Meeting is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 23. The exact time and date will be posted on the Village website and will be in the local media as it is confirmed. Local businesses and residents adjacent to the project area will receive notification by mail in early April.
