The Suburbs This Weekend: One-armed bandits and whoopee cushions

Elderly one-armed bandits, Easter eggs, a comedian, and, of course, whoopee cushions are among the weekend activities favored by Sean Stangland and Richard Battin in this installment of The Suburbs This Weekend.

Sean talks up the return to the Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center this weekend of Chicagoland Antique Advertising, Slot-Machine and Jukebox Show. Find just the right antique one-armed bandit there for your basement play room. For more information visit http://www.chicagolandshow.com

Sean also heralds comedian Jim Gaffigan, of “My Boys,” and “Late Night With Conan O'Brient” fame, appearing Friday at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. More information.

Richard is touting a flashlight egg hunt Friday for 9- to 12-year-olds at the Round Lake Area Park District's Hart Woods Park. Bring your flashlights and running shoes. (847) 546-8558.

And finally, and we're not making this up, Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville is holding “The Great Whoop Off,” Sunday afternoon. The store provides the whoopee cushions and customers do the rest. The event celebrates the “Horrid Henry” book series for young readers, and Henry will be there to greet guests. More information.
