Gunman shoots C. Ind. convenience store clerk
KOKOMO, Ind. — Police in a central Indiana city say officers are searching for a masked gunman who shot a convenience store clerk in the face.
Kokomo police say surveillance video shows the robber with a handgun wearing a ski mask, gloves and a hooded sweat shirt when he entered the Village Pantry store on the city’s south side and shot the clerk about 2 a.m. Monday. The gunman then took money from the cash register and fled the store.
Police say 51-year-old store clerk David Kelly was taken by helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was in stable condition.
