Set the record straight on pill

Let’s set the record straight on men and contraception with the truth, not the media “spin” of “twisted” truth.

First of all, the men who first appeared before Congress were discussing “religious liberty” and protection of the First Amendment rights given to all citizens by the Bill of Rights. The next group of people appearing before Congress included women who voiced their ideas and opinions on contraception as health care but not in relationship to our constitutionally protected religious freedoms. Women were not left out of the discussion.

Prior to Obamacare, prescriptions were made available through insurance with a co-pay. No one is taking away contraception from women. The difference is free versus co-pay (there are places now which provide it for free, like Planned Parenthood). I currently have to take tamoxifen daily to prevent the reoccurrence of cancer. This is truly “preventive” health care, yet I must pay my co-pay monthly to obtain my medicine. I don’t believe every person in our country should pay for the contraception, abortifacients, and sterilizations of other people. Those who want these should have to pay for their procedures and prescriptions just as they did before Obamacare.

By the way, let’s also set the record straight: Pregnancy is not a disease to be prevented at all costs, but cancer is, and more women will be getting cancer in years to come because the “pill” is listed as a Class 1 carcinogen by the World Health Organization.

Have you noticed the increase in breast cancer and cervical cancer since the “pill” came on the scene? It’s hormone replacement similar to that which was taken off the market for menopause because of the increase in cancer.

We need less government interference and control in our lives, not more! We deserve better!
