Arlington Hts. police crack down in March

The Arlington Heights Police Department recently completed enforcement activities relating to the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” holiday enforcement campaign, which ran March 12-20 between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Two roadside safety checks and six DUI roving saturation patrols were conducted. The focus was to stop drivers who were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and those committing licensing, equipment and other Illinois Vehicle Code traffic violations.

The police made 179 arrests and citations:

Ÿ Driving under the influence of alcohol, 2;

Ÿ Underage drinking, 3;

Ÿ Driving while license revoked, 1;

Ÿ Unlicensed driving, 7;

Ÿ Driving while license expired, 1;

Ÿ Uninsured motorist, 23;

Ÿ Failure to wear seat belt, 36;

Ÿ Other miscellaneous violations, 106.

The Arlington Heights Police Department is committed to traffic safety and will continue to be an active participant in IDOT’s grant program by participating in the upcoming Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns.
