Sysmex America launches software for clinical laboratories

Mundeleino-based Sysmex America, Inc. has launched Sysmex WAM Select, a software platform enabling enhanced efficiency for small to medium-sized clinical laboratories.

WAM Select is an easy-to-use hematology software solution for clinical laboratories with Sysmex X-Series instruments and the XE-Alpha, which includes the Sysmex SP-1000i slidemaker/stainer. The comprehensive system includes a hematology-specific rules library with true auto-validation capability, and it is packaged to enable fast installation with minimal disruption to laboratory operations. WAM Select is the second product of the Sysmex WAM middleware portfolio.

“Sysmex America is committed to servicing the needs of all clinical laboratories so it is particularly meaningful for us to launch Sysmex WAM Select,” said Ralph Taylor, executive vice president, marketing and medical affairs, Sysmex America. “Smaller clinical laboratories face similar challenges and scrutiny as their larger counterparts — staffing shortages, less revenue, and the need to implement quality initiatives. But regardless of size, auto-validation may now represent the greatest incremental improvement to shorten turnaround time (TAT) for both routine and STAT samples, an important metric monitored by all labs.”
