Lombard Maple Street water main replacement to begin March 26

LOMBARD, Illinois—A water main replacement project on Maple Street from Grace Street to Edgewood Avenue will begin on March 26.

A new eight-inch diameter water main will replace an old six inch diameter one. New water services will also be installed for each house from the new water main to the valve box in the parkway. There will be no parking on the south side of the street for the duration of the project.

Traffic will be affected daily with lane closures and detours as necessary. Residents and motorists are advised to expect delays and to use caution when driving through the construction zone.

The project is expected to conclude sometime in June. The roadway will be temporarily patched with asphalt and a pavement maintenance program will occur in late summer or early fall to restore the roadway.
