Clearbrook’s shredding service employs clients

Clearbrook, which operates a shredding service on its campus, now is increasing its capacity. By adding a second commercial shredder, it will provide jobs for more adults in the Clearbrook Employment Services Program.

This Clearbrook business venture provides both a valuable service to the community and employment opportunities for Clearbrook’s developmentally disabled clients.

Drop-off service is available at Clearbrook’s Palatine facility and monthly container rentals, complete with pickup and change out, can be arranged.

Through these services, Clearbrook clients earn wages for preparing, sorting and participating in the destruction of the documents. A Clearbrook Employment Site Supervisor oversees the work.

“We put a high priority on creating programs that benefit our clients and our community,” said Carl La Mell, president of Clearbrook.

“Our clients have a job that makes them feel really good about what they are doing, and community residents and businesses have a nearby service they can trust with their private documents.”
