The word ‘hate’ distracts from issues
Oh, my gosh, I don’t believe what I am reading in your Fence Post letters to the editor titled “Abortion about money more than morals” by Lloyd Levin.
At the end of his letter, he states, “It may be a moral issue, and that’s up to others than me, but it really smells of a hate, and there is lots of money in hate.”
Why is it when someone disagrees with another on a moral issue or political, the detractor is accused of “hate?” It’s a word used to stop someone in their tracks from disagreeing with them.
I have never, in my entire life heard the word ”hate” mentioned as often as I have since President Obama had started running for office the first time. Whenever someone disagrees with another’s opinion, they are accused of being full of “hate.”
There is a word in the dictionary to “disagree “ with. This states a fact. You can see where someone agrees or disagrees with someone. But “hate” is an evil word. No one should “hate” anyone.
Mr. Levin also states that 37 years ago, someone claimed abortion was a form of “birth control” and that it is still being said. Unfortunately, there are some people that do use it as a form of birth control. I am certainly not saying all. There have been cases where a woman has perhaps four abortions. I am not going to judge her, but I certainly don’t hate her. But I do disagree with her choice.
There are so many women out there who are begging to adopt a child. As far as someone having an ulterior motive for donating money to support pro-life, if wanting to give money to help a woman through her pregnancy or health care, I guess you could say I have an ulterior motive. That is a live birth and a healthy mother.
As we celebrated my birthday today with my children and grandchildren around me, I thanked God and my parents for not aborting me as I was the 10th child in our family. Had I not been born, I would not have been blessed with such a wonderful family.
How about you, Mr. Levin, do you thank God your parents didn’t abort you? Let’s do away with the word hate.
