Pols need to sit at a kitchen table

I keep hearing Obama and his cronies telling everyone that the economy is improving. I ponder this while I am filling my gas tank for $3.99 a gallon while on my way to the grocery store.

Let’s see. Gallons of ice cream are no longer full gallons but the price is higher. Cans of fruits and vegetables are smaller than they used to be but they cost more. Maybe the president will contact Betty Crocker to publish a new cookbook dealing with the difference in those can sizes or we will have to revert to grandma’s a pinch of this and a dop of that.

Food prices have soared, gas prices have soared, taxes have soared, and I am supposed to believe the economy is getting better. It certainly is for the first lady. Her travels have cost this country over $200 million. Remember the Secret Service must arrive early for her trips and they do have to have room and board and it takes a lot of fuel for that 747 to get off the ground and then there’s her entourage of assistants.

Most of the time when business is bad the top people in the company start to cut back and set an example. Never having run a business, and it shows, our president evidently doesn’t know that. How many of the people reading this have chartered a plane for their dog?

Our politicians, Republicans and Democrats, need to sit at the kitchen table of Middle America and see how a budget is really run.
