It is unfortunate that as a society, we have to give more weight to Mr. Stranger Danger than being a good Samaritan. Had the two girls been elderly, then Mr. Peterson would be a hero.

I understand Barrington officials’ stance on the matter as well, as they are attempting to err on the side of caution. However, to add an additional charge after the fact indicates that they themselves are searching for a crime to fit.
