Enjoy laughs, fashion all for a good cause in Geneva

The Child Welfare Society will present the “Purse-onalize Your Style” benefit event at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Eagle Brook Country Club in Geneva.
The speaker will be Deb DiSandro, an author and former humor columnist for the Daily Herald. Her book is “Tales of a Slightly Off Supermom: Fighting for Truth, Justice and Clean Underwear. She will take attendees on a journey about the many roles women play and the purses they carry along the way. She spins just the right mix of laughter and learning designed to inspire and rejuvenate.
See the latest in new fashion trends, chic hairstyles and air-brushed makeup, and designer pearls. It will feature Chico’s and Coldwater Creek of Geneva, Luxe Hair Lounge of St. Charles, and pearl expert Claire Osborn of Love The Pearls.

Proceeds from “Purse-onalize Your Style” will support continuing and developing programs for underprivileged children, within Kane County and the surrounding communities; with the focus being an opportunity for growth, learning, and addressing the physical and cognitive emotional needs of participating children.
The Child Welfare Society, started in Aurora in 1938, is a nonprofit organization of volunteer members with its main funding arm, The Gift Corner located at Dreyer Medical Clinic on Galena Boulevard. Its mission is to raise funds to grow and prosper as a charitable organization to be able to continue to fund and implement programs for current and future generations of youth.
