Harsh words spewed from both right, left

The recent letter by Chris Peterson blasting Rush Limbaugh can be unevenly matched with multiple left-leaning personalities who are far less successful than Mr. Limbaugh and who have spouted much more hateful things more often. But because they may be in agreement with Mr. Peterson’s point of view, they are ignored. For instance, look at Bill Maher, who recently donated $1 million to President Obama’s campaign and has been hurtful to just about every GOP presidential candidate, Sarah Palin and even Jesus Christ recently, describing our Lord as a “Palestinian who performed magic tricks 2000 years ago.” Yt we see no repudiation of Mr. Maher and Obama hasn’t returned the million dollars and refused to answer a question about this a recent news conference.

Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowsky was asked about Mr. Maher and refused to say anything to condemn him, nor would she comment about the million dollars. David Axelrod, Obama’s campaign chief, also blasted Mr. Limbaugh as he was going to appear on Bill Maher’s show the very same day, so you can see the double standard.

Mr. Limbaugh has apologized, twice, and acknowledged that he overstepped. We’re still waiting for Mr. Maher to do so. Similar wrongful statements can also be attributed to Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz and Lawrence O’Donnell, who are all on the political left. The market will take care of Rush, if Limbaugh’s show fails to attract listeners and advertisers, it will be dropped, but if it is No. 1 for the time slot, which it usually is, it will likely be on from 11 to 2 every day for many years to come.
