Elgin church to celebrate pastor's 30th anniversary

On Sunday, March 25, Northwest Bible Baptist Church of rural Elgin will honor the Rev. Keith Gomez as he celebrates his 30th anniversary as its pastor.

Although there is much to be thankful for in looking back at the miracles at Northwest over the past three decades of his ministry, the church will instead be focusing on the legacy Gomez is leaving for the future.

More than 30 people will have a part in the morning Sunday school (9:45 a.m.) and preaching service (10:45 a.m.) and the evening service (7 p.m.) on that day.

These, along with other special guests attending from out-of-town, have graduated from the church's Providence Baptist College or are or have been members of the church and are now serving as pastors, assistant pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and other full-time Christian workers in various ministries across the country.

On Monday, March 26, the church will host an honorary luncheon for Gomez at its Providence Baptist College campus in Elgin, which he founded 15 years ago.

After the luncheon, there will be a time of testimonies and reminiscing on the part of church members, friends, pastors, and staff from other churches and ministries whose lives have also been greatly influenced by Gomez.

The public is invited to attend all of the special Sunday services on this celebration of his 30th year of pastoring the church, which is at 9N889 Nesler Road on the far west side of Elgin.
