Chicago Chamber Musicians to perform at North Central
Chicago Chamber Musicians will present powerful masterworks of the chamber canon Friday, April 27, at North Central College.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. in the college’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $35 and $25; call the box office at (630) 637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
Founded in 1986, the Chicago Chamber Musicians celebrate 25 seasons as a society of musicians and music devotees committed to building an internationally recognized chamber music institution in Chicago.
Since its inception, CCM has launched a critically and popularly acclaimed subscription series, an award-winning annual series of contemporary chamber music, a touring program and a remarkable set of community service programs.
The North Central performance will include Max Bruch’s “8 Pieces for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, op. 83;” Antonín Dvoák’s “Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, op. 81;” and Ernst von Dohnányi’s “Sextet in C Major, op. 37.”

Each year, CCM shares the joy of chamber music with more than 300,000 radio listeners, audience members and students throughout the Chicago area. In 2011, it launched encoreCCM.org, a free public archive of recordings and program notes.
Grammy nominated and named 2007 Chamber Ensemble of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, CCM has toured extensively and developed an international reputation for fresh, intimate and nuanced performances by musicians who consistently work together as an ensemble.
