Nerheim has integrity, experience

By now, many potential Republican primary voters have seen a desperate opponent’s mailing pieces attacking Mike Nerheim. Her methods are most unfortunate because her words and images demonstrate a complete lack of understanding — or worse, a disregard for — the principles of our legal system, especially the right of the accused to a fair trial, presumed innocent until each trial is completed.

Mike Nerheim has been a prosecutor, serving for a number of years in the State’s Attorney’s office. He understands the law, current technology and the importance of leading a team of qualified prosecutors. More recently, he has been a respected, principled defense attorney.

Mike has run a positive campaign. He is focused on the goal, improving justice on behalf of all Lake County citizens. Most of us are tired of the type of negative campaigning and misrepresentation used by his opponent. She has tried to use this tactic like so many other hack candidates. These are not tactics of fairness, ethics and justice; rather, they are the same old tactics of distortion. This office is too important to leave to someone who appeals to ignorance and malice.

With his broader experience, insight and strong leadership abilities, Mike Nerheim is the clear choice.

Mike is the candidate with the integrity, innovative ideas and ethical principles to serve our county, bring justice to victims and the accused and improve the office of State’s Attorney for years to come.
