Prairie Crossing offers farm camps

Submitted by Erin Cummisford

Give your child a unique Farm Camp experience at the Prairie Crossing Learning Farm. Spring, summer and fall Farm Camps are now open for registration at www.prairiecrossing.com/farm/learning.php.

Where else can children gather eggs still warm from the nest box? Children will connect with nature as they care for crops, nurture farm animals, explore how food is grown, and more. Children in all camps will interact with the popular Learning Farm chickens.

Eight different Farm Camps will be held for children ages 3-10. Spring after-school camp begins on April 26 and summer camp sessions begin June 19. Limited enrollment is still available for all Farm Camp sessions.

The Prairie Crossing Learning Farm offers unique outdoor education programs that incorporate farm work, organic soil management, crop cultivation, and animals into a variety of lessons. The Prairie Crossing Learning Farm is a working certified organic farm, and is located in the Prairie Crossing conservation community in Grayslake.
