Warren edges LZ at Spring Fling
Warren 4, Lake Zurich 3: At Barrington, Sam Belletini hit a 2-run homer, and Amy Ricci knocked in the winning run in the fourth inning for the Blue Devils, who wrapped up the Spring Fling with their second win in a row.
Ricci went 3-for-4, while Belletini and Kelly Majewski were each 2-for-3 for Warren (2-1). Jessica Demski earned the win, allowing 3 earned runs in 7 innings.
Maria Schroeder had 3 hits, including a double, for Lake Zurich (1-2). Carlee Parsons and Kasey Roe added a pair of hits each. Schroeder and Roe had RBI.
Palatine 5, Vernon Hills 3: The visiting Pirates overcame a 2-0 deficit after one inning, spoiling the Cougars’ season opener.
Michelle Harris (2-for-3, 2 runs) and Jordyn Comitor (2 RBI) doubled for Vernon Hills.
