Chose to be responsible mother

In honor of National Women’s History Month, I’d like to show support to President Obama for passing a health care law mandating a requirement that religious-affiliated institutions and businesses such as universities or hospitals provide free birth control to be included in health plans for women employees.

As a single mother of one, I paid entirely for birth control prescriptions during my employment with a Catholic-affiliated hospital. I chose to be a responsible young mother by choosing pregnancy prevention by taking birth control pills. I had to budget that cost, which was a struggle for me at that time. I am glad to know that many women will not have to experience what I did in the future and I firmly support this mandate.
