Ron Paul plans U of I stop
CHAMPAIGN — U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson says fellow Rep. Ron Paul plans a presidential campaign stop at the University of Illinois.
Johnson spokesman Phil Bloomer said Monday that Paul will appear at a rally at Huff Hall on the university campus in Champaign on Wednesday night.
In a news release Johnson called the Republican presidential candidate a friend whom he’s long admired and said he’ll be proud to appear with Paul Johnson is a Republican from Urbana. Illinois’ primary election is March 20.
Bloomer said Paul has no other Illinois stops planned Wednesday.
Messages left with the Paul campaign were not returned.
