Blagojevich's last address set for evening news
More detail about prison-bound former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's final goodbye in public has trickled out.
Spokesman Glenn Selig announced Monday that Blagojevich will make his statement outside his Chicago home at just after 5 p.m. Wednesday. That's less the 24 hours before he must report to start serving a 14-year prison sentence for corruption.
The spokesman says Blagojevich will begin speaking at precisely 5:02 Wednesday.
A 5:02 starting time would enable evening news programs to lead with Blagojevich.
Word he'd speak publicly came last Wednesday — though a day wasn't immediately announced. That it would happen one day before Blagojevich reports to prison was announced only Friday, but no time was fixed.
Blagojevich is expected to report to a prison outside Denver.
