Government should do more for veterans

I am a retired Marine and most definitely in support of all our wounded and disabled veterans. However, I am deeply disappointed by the need for such organizations as the Wounded Warrior Project and the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes. I am offended not by the organizations but for their need to exist.

The federal government ordered these members of the military into harm’s way, and therefore should bear the full responsibility for both their care and an immediate and adequate income. This responsibility should not be foisted on the general population. Our maimed and injured veterans deserve far better treatment from our government than they currently receive.
