Church violating its tax-exempt status
The budget’s in the red, so let’s tax religion. And since the Catholic Church has abandoned the IRS rules about political activity for tax-exempt organizations, we should start there. The action of the cardinal seem to be in clear violation of the laws about politicking from the pulpit and shows a contempt for the secular law of the society his church resides in.
I do not want my tax dollars feeding an organization that considers itself above the law. They should pay their fair share like any other business, since they willingly have abandoned their charity status.
