Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead, plus . . .

While you’re not forgetting to set your clocks ahead Saturday night, Illinois State Fire Marshal Larry Matkaitis suggests it’s also a good time to change smoke alarm batteries. He says it will give families peace of mind.

Other precautions include changing batteries in flashlights and radios.

The National Fire Protection Association says 40 percent of residential fire deaths in the country happen in homes with no smoke alarms.
