“Attending the Aurora Junior Woman's Club production is an annual tradition for so many families,” said Pat Dawson, who plays the starfish “Peach” and is co-chair of this year's musical.
“We have adapted songs into the play that will be recognized by children and adults alike and are sure to have you moving in your seats. The show also provides colorful costumes and an amazing oceanic backdrop.”
The Aurora Junior Woman's Club/Aurora Children's Dental Services is a nonprofit organization made up of women dedicated to serving the needs of Aurora's children for more than 50 years. Each year, the club stages a play to entertain the families of the Fox Valley.
The cost of the tickets is deliberately kept low so families that are on a limited budget can experience the joy of seeing live performances. These plays are rewritten, edited, performed, directed and staged by the club members. Proceeds go directly back to the community in the form of dental work for children who otherwise would not be able to afford the care. It also funds donations to school theater programs and other local charitable endeavors.
