Children's choir, student orchestra present concert

The final program in the 2011-12 concert series at Immanuel Lutheran Church will feature stringed instruments and children's voices. It will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the church, 950 Hart Road.

Presenting the program will be the Fox Valley Children's Chorus, the string orchestra of Immanuel Lutheran School and Quartet West, a professional string quartet from the western suburbs.

Danielle Bruhn directs the Fox Valley Children's Chorus which has performed frequently in this area. Members are chosen by audition and rehearse weekly.

Charlotte Bogda directs the Immanuel Orchestra, now in its second year. The orchestra rehearses weekly at the church and performs two concerts a year. This will be its first time in a professional concert setting.

Bogda also is a member of Quartet West. She and other members of the quartet perform professionally throughout the year. The group also has played for Immanuel's annual Lessons & Carols Christmas Concert.

The program is free and open to the public. An offering will be received. For details, call the church office at (630) 879-7163.
