Aurora man sentenced to prison for abusing child
An Aurora man pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor girl with whom he was acquainted.
Robert D. Lammers, 38, of the 600 block of South Gladstone Avenue, was sentenced to 4½ years in prison. He is eligible for day-for-day sentencing, and was given credit for 45 days served in the Kane County jail.
Associate Judge Allen M. Anderson accepted the plea.
Lammers must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, and must avoid contact with his victim.
On Nov. 8, 2010, Lammers had sexual contact with the girl, who was younger than 13, according to police and court records.
Aurora police and the Kane County Child Advocacy Center investigated the case.
Lammers was originally charged with predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony that could have been punishable by six to 30 years in prison.
