Grayslake North FBLA members attend conference

Grayslake North’s Future Business Leaders of America attended the Northern Area Conference at Warren Township High School recently.

FBLA is a national business program that focuses on developing overall business and leadership skills in young people. Students were able to compete in events that focused on business careers against 19 other schools from the area, as well as attend seminars and workshops during the day for leadership training.

Congratulations to the 21 students that competed from Grayslake North, including Bridget O’Gorman’s first-place finish in Health Care Administration and Andrea Lamb’s second-place finish in Hospitality Management.

Others finishing among the top five students in their event include: Kate Dean, Kristian Robles, and Danielle Schaefer.

Elections were held at the conference for regional officers. Among the newly elected leaders were North’s Tarah Pasternak as president and Hannah Collins as secretary.

Other North students in attendance at conference were Thomas Belau, JC Amezquita, Will Enowmbitang, Connor Kelleher, Michael Suarez, Kayla Switalla, Kelly Meyer, Kelly Fiedler, Nathali Moran, Jenny Moore, Erin Llanes-Smith, Brandon Magnini.

LeeAnn Taylor serves as the adviser to this group of students at Grayslake North.
