Thanks to postal customers for help

The St. Charles and Geneva City and Rural Letter Carriers would like to say thank you to all of their postal customers for their donations during their annual Food Drive on May 12.

St. Charles collected 11,040 pounds for the Salvation Army Food Pantry, which has been helping families in the Tri-Cities area for 61 years. They have helped as many as 400 families on a monthly basis.

Geneva collected 6,450 pounds for the St. Peter’s Food Pantry, which has been helping families for more than 20 years. They have helped as many as 275 families twice a month.

The letter carrier coordinators — Regina, Pam, Rod and Ted — did a terrific job in getting ready for this event. They would like to say thank you to all of the volunteers who spent the day helping to collect and weighing in the donations at the post office and all of the Salvation Army and St. Peter’s volunteers for picking up the donations at the post office.
