Misguided notion of ‘salvation’
Thank you, Mr. Teune (Feb. 19 letter), for regaling us with your biased interpretation of Bible passages. I never realized how the amoral ideology of liberalism is our “salvation.” But alas, the “conservative Republican coat of hatred of government social programs,” according to Mr. Teune is not Godly? Too much MSNBC?
Here’s one for you, Matt 7:1-5: ”Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Another perfect example of the pervasive hypocrisy emanating from a morally bereft ideology that holds the vile act of abortion as sacrosanct. How sacrosanct? The leader of their political movement (Obama) once voted against the “Born Alive Infant Protection Act,” a bill that would have required hospitals to provide health care to survivors of failed abortions.
Hospitals were allowing infants surviving abortions to die in closets and soiled utility rooms. Not content with the termination of 50 million babies since 1973, Obama advocated a ghastly death for the survivors also. And this guy is the president?
Mr. Teune’s idea of “salvation”? God help us. Every poll/study formulated in the last 10 years confirmed conservatives are profoundly more charitable than liberals, about 30 percent. Example, Mitt Romney contributed 14 percent of his income to charity in 2010 ($3.5 million), and Joe Biden contributed a whopping 0.15 percent in 2006. Change he found in his couch? Say it ain’t so, Joe.
Bottom line, Mr. Teune. I will stand before my messiah (not Obama) one fine day and explain my support for cuts in boondoggle government social programs that jeopardize the future of our children/grandchildren. You can explain why liberals supported the killing of 50 million of God’s little children. Good Luck.
Reminds me of another biblical passage, Matt 13:49-50, “The angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
