Kiva rehab hiding behind legalities
Kiva rehab hiding behind legalities
As a longtime resident of Campton Hills, I have some strong thoughts regarding the Kiva drug rehab facility being proposed in our midst. From all I’ve been able to learn, it would be of absolutely no benefit to our little community and nobody out here wants this intrusion.
Nobody, that is, except our village board and its president, Patsy Smith. Why? Something doesn’t smell right here. One wonders just who approached whom on this whole adventure.
These Kiva people are nothing more than opportunistic, high pressure “do gooders” using legal, but quietly strong-arm tactics to achieve their “altruistic” agenda, while thumbing their noses at the will and wishes of the people of Campton Hills. They have infiltrated and seem to be in league with our timid and indecisive board, while hiding behind a shield of legal technicalities, threats and coercion. This, to my mind, is pure and simple extortion.
I say fight these parasitic predators with everything we can muster before it’s too late and this ill-conceived notion is rammed down our throats by the same bunch of busybodies and their cohorts who ramrodded our incorporation fiasco five years ago. That was then and this is now.
If we don’t vigorously oppose this suspiciously contrived attack, this totally unwanted blight will be foisted upon our village and, once again, we’ll get just what we deserve because we didn’t fight it. “No guts, no glory” as they say.
