Idea of third Obama term is absurd

Responding to Mr. Huber’s letter as printed in the Saturday Dec. 15 Herald, the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution prohibits anyone from being elected to more than two terms of the presidency, so Congress can’t pass a law allowing Mr. Obama a third term. Another constitutional amendment would have to get through, making your theory regarding a mere law change making that possible absolutely wrong.

Indeed, the whole idea of Mr. Obama contemplating a third term for himself is illogical at best and reflects a type of sad, simplistic extremism that seems to have become acceptable to some on the right of the Republican Party and is damaging, I believe, to the health of our political process and hence our country. And it is certainly not doing any favors for the Republican Party, of which I consider myself an oft embarrassed member.
