Healthcare tax bump Obama’s broken promise
Now that the United States Supreme Court has finally ruled on President Obama’s signature legislation nicknamed Obamacare, it is now clear that each of the lawmakers who supported the bill voted to inflict a huge tax increase on the American people, including members of the middle class.
Though candidate Obama assured voters he would not increase taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 per year, that is exactly what he has done. In fact, behind closed doors, his lawyers argued before the Supreme Court the legality of the individual mandate clause in the law by citing Congress’ right to tax. This was certainly not President Obama’s only broken promise, but it just might be his most egregious one.
