A good steward of the land

Forest preserve districts are authorized by statute to acquire land to preserve, protect, restore and restock it with natural flora and fauna for the education and recreation of the public.

That purpose calls for commissioners first to be good stewards of the land we all own through our DuPage Forest Preserve District, protecting its natural resources while providing access to its beauty and restorative power. The next great responsibility of a commissioner is to be a trustee of taxpayers — (your) money, to be wise and frugal with it. Both roles require long-term thinking.

Pete Connolly appreciates how important our preserves are to our quality of life in District 6. He demonstrates his commitment to being a good steward of the land, serving as village of Wayne Trustee and Conservation Foundation trustee.

From his work in banking he knows finance extensively and is committed to holding costs down and making money work hard. He will be a good trustee of our money. Please join me in voting for Pete Connolly in the Republican primary election March 20.
