Lindenhurst Twisters head to tourneys

The LASC (Lindenhurst) Twisters Blue squad recently competed in two tournaments. The first was in Racine where the Twisters tied Wauwatosa White 1-1, and beat the Elkhorn Roaring Thunder 3-0 in pool play. In the semifinals, the girls played the Racine Spartans to a 2-2 tie through regulation. The game went to penalty kicks where the Twisters edged the Spartans 5-4. The girls would wind up losing the championship to the Eclipse North.

In their tournament played in Schaumburg, the girls won their division by tying Schaumburg Red 1-1, tying the Johnsburg White Lightning 0-0, and beating the Schwaben Athletic Nationals 3-1. The girls would drop the championship game to the Arlington Aces Red. Those two title game losses would be the team’s only losses in their final 12 matches.

The Twisters roster included Anna Engel, Casey Moczynski, Hannah Gallo, Lauren Allen, Molly Bakrins, Danielle Brose, Jensen Bernard, Savannah Good, Alyssa Kueppers, Rosie O’Malley, Maddie Wilkinson, Callista Hass, Sydney Janda, Molly Finnegan, Alyssa Centnarowicz and Melissa Pomorin.

The girls will be playing in the IWSL’s “C” east division in the fall.
