Wet snow blankets tornado-ravaged S. Ind.

HENRYVILLE, Ind. — Forecasters say an overnight snowfall has covered tornado-ravaged portions of southern Indiana with a blanket of wet snow.

The National Weather Service says a few inches of snow had fallen by early Monday on Clark County, where the towns of Henryville and Maryville were heavily damaged in Friday’s storms.

Snowfall amounts in parts of Clark, Washington and Orange counties ranged from two to four inches.

State homeland security spokeswoman Emily Norcross says no snow-related problems were reported overnight in the storm-damaged area, which has been placed under a curfew running from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

An Indiana toddler injured in one of Friday’s deadly tornadoes died Sunday, bringing to 39 the number of people killed by the storms that devastated fives states. Thirteen of those deaths were in Indiana.
